I do, I think my husband does. Everyone we know now has family to be with at TG or Xmas. We really love going all out for the holidays, but in the end it's a little disappointing and sad. We could always help out feeding the homeless, that would bring satisfaction I know, but that's not the Christmas I dream about, it's not the Christmas in the stuffing commercials.
Anyone else feel like this?

To all of you who continue to "cover your tracks" and are still in ((HUGS))
by Lady Liberty indear friends,.
there are so many here with circumstances that will not allow them to leave the borg, and who week after week have to put on a show, and go to the meetings and service, that i just wanted to send you a big (((hug)) for hangng in there.. though each situation is no doubt different, one thing most likely the same..you would leave if you could,, and you have to endure all the things being taught each week, that you have come to learn are lies!
but we are glad you are here!!

What a great thread LL. Yes, hugs and kudos to those who have to maintain, or feel that they do.
It's strange, I've read many stories of those who've lost their families (and posted my own of same) and given and received support. But I never considered the fact that those who are still IN must read those and feel compelled to stay in to avoid this. You know exactly what will happen if you bare it all.
Bless us all who have been harmed by this blackmail. The proven fact: JWs destroy families.

Welcome mrose.
You don't have to put on an appearance for anyone, don't try to fake Christmas. We did that for our first one, the biggest deal was putting up and decoration the tree, after that we were like, uh, now what. This is our 3rd one, and we have our traditions already: decorating cookies and painting our own ornaments, you know fun stuff together.
And dear, you may feel the way you do now for several months, not just about Christmas. You're relatively newly married AND have left your childhood religion. There's confusion for everyone at different points in our lives about who we are and what we're supposed to do next with our lives. It's ok.
We're glad that you're here, and that you're at this important point in your life. Really, it's all good.

Facebook surprise: looks like most of my childhood friends got out!
by Awakened07 ini only recently joined facebook (yes, a little late to the party).
and today i found one person there that i still consider somewhat of a friend, that i know is disfellowshipped.
this person turns out to be a 'hub', in that this person has a lot of facebook 'friends'.

Islam Diss'ed Again....
by chappy inseems a 54 year old british school teacher who is teaching grammer school classes in the sudan has committed a despicable act by blastpheming and showing no respect for the prophet!
can you believe it; she actually allowed the children in her class to name a teddy bear being used in a class project muhammad!!
the sudanise government, carrying out its god given duty is putting her on trial.

Just read that the teddy bear thing is used in education, the tb is named, then each child gets to take it home for a weekend then write a short essay on Weekend w Teddy.
More importantly, one of the students himself is named Muhammed and thought his own name was fitting and so nominated his name for vote.
I hope the world is watching and won't let this teacher be abused in this way!!!

Try this at home: Make your own bright and shiny Xmas ornaments, here's how
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit inyou end up with a marble-like appearance, very cool:.
buy clear glass ornaments at the craft store, some plain old acrylic craft paints--some solid and some metallics.
drip your favorite colors into the ornament and rotate it around slowly.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM LAWRENCE HUGHES
by SHUNNED FATHER inas you may have heard, the court of appeal has overturned three previous court decisions in my favour.
the lawsuit has been given the green light and is basically has remained intact almost exactly the way it started.
what are the odds of that happening?

I'm in.
BTW, I noticed that in one article you said to send donations to Save the Children at the same post office box. Is this still a name that we can use?
